Photographer of the year 2006
Leicestershire’s premier wedding and portrait photographer, Maz Mashru was awarded UK portrait photographer 2006 on Sunday 14th January 07 at the annual international photographers’ convention run by the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP).

Maz, whose studio is on Belgrave Road, is recognised internationally in the photographic industry for his creativity and talent. The title of Portrait Photographer of the Year now means that he has attained almost every prestigious photographic award for portraiture.

Maz’s image named ‘Goddess’ was selected from over 18,500 images submitted by some of the top professionals internationally. Over 4500 photographers attended the convention this weekend at Novotel Hotel in London. The portrait is on display at Maz of Leicester and the business is celebrating Maz’s success by hosting a full month of free portraiture sittings during February 07 (by appointment).

Maz has photographed many famous faces including Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, Jackie Chan and Amitabh Bachan comments, “I am thrilled to receive this award and thank SWPP and Fuji for it. Photography is my life passion and it is always an honour get recognition for it.”

The coveted award was presented to Maz by Fuji Professional Director, John Cohen (TITLE) who comments, “On behalf of Fuji Professional, I would like to congratulate Maz on his latest award. Maz is one of the UK’s leading photographic ambassadors”

LEICESTER PHOTO CAPTURES BIG B AT BIG BEN
Leicester’s most celebrated photographer Maz Mashru has caught a real treat on camera for Bollywood fans. On his recent visit to the UK, Maz was commissioned to photograph Amitabh Bachan in London and managed to wow the star when he presented a fantastic image of Amitabh Bachan behind Big Ben. Maz, whose portfolio includes many dignitaries and celebrity images, caught a fantastic relaxed image of the star outside Big Ben. Rita Chandarana of Maz of Leicester comments, “Amitabh is larger than life in many aspects from his tall frame, his personality and his fame. We wanted to capture him as his fans viewed him and even Amitabh was thrilled by Maz’s results when he was presented with the stunning picture.” Maz of Leicester is recognised as one of the UK’s premier photographic studio’s with a string of accolades and awards from organisations throughout the world. Maz of Leicester recently won LABA’s Marketer of the Year Award, for innovation and market diversification. The image now hangs proudly at Maz’s gallery along with other famous faces such as Jackie Chan, Hritik Roshan, Tony Blair and Aishwariya Rai.

House of Commons Awards Ceremony
The UK’s leading Asian wedding and portrait photographer, Maz Mashru will be recognised this week for his outstanding achievements in photography at the House of Commons. The internationally award-winning Photographer will also be officially presented his award as UK portrait photographer 2006 by the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and Fuji Professional.

Maz, who works from Maz of Leicester Gallery on Belgrave Road in Leicester, is recognised internationally in the photographic industry for his creativity and talent and for the wide portfolio of famous faces he has been invited and commissioned to photograph.

The title of Portrait Photographer of the Year now means that he has attained almost every prestigious photographic award for portraiture nationally and internationally. Maz’s image named ‘Goddess’ was selected from over 18,500 images submitted by some of the top professionals internationally.

Maz of Leicester will be unveiling one of the finest famous faces images at their gallery on Belgrave Road shortly for visitors to come and view. Maz comments, “I am thrilled to receive this award. The unveiling of our new famous faces gallery not only highlights an important photographic archive that a Asian artist has created but also shows how my photography has evolved over the years. Photography is my life passion and it is always an honour get recognition for it.”

The award will be presented at a private dinner at the House of Commons by SWPP and Fuji Professional Director, John Cohen of Fuji Professional.

HALL OF FAME AT LEICESTERHER DAY
A hall of famous and influential women is being created for LeicesterHer Day courtesy of Leicestershire most prominent photographer Maz Mashru.

The project, that Maz describes as “Leicestershires top women at their best” was the brainchild of Maz Mashru and LeicesterHer Day chairman Maureen Milgram Forrest. Amongst the women that will appear in the hall of fame will be Health Expert Rosemary Conelly, Peepul Centre Chief Executive Rita Patel, Leicester MP Patricia Hewitt and BBC Radio Presenter Vijay Sharma.

Maz who is one of the county’s highest qualified photographers, is renowned for his images of famous dignitaries such as Betty Boothroyd, Cherie Blair, Keith Vaz and Sir Trevor McDonald comments “I am delighted to be involved in such an important project in Leicester. I have met some of the most inspirational women over the last few months and I am proud that I have been able to photograph them at their best!”
